Ladakh receives a very low amount of snow and rainfall. Its summer
temperature doesn't exceed 27 degrees C while in winters it may drop to
minus 20 degrees C. The trekking season in Leh-Ladakh extends from the month
of May to October. But the best time of trekking is from June to September
as it is during this time that Ladakh remains unaffected by the monsoon.

» By Air - Indian Airlines has daily flights to Leh
from Delhi. Flights are also available from Jammu, Srinagar and Chandigarh.
Private airlines like Jet also operates daily flights from Leh-Delhi-Leh.
» By Rail - The nearest railhead is at
Jammu which is linked to other parts of the country by express trains.
» By Road - The Srinagar-Leh road is open to
traffic from early June to November is the main route to Ladakh. The Jammu
and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation(J&KSRTC) operates regular
Deluxe and Ordinary bus services between Srinagar and Leh. Besides, the
Manali-Leh road is another route to reach Ladakh. Taxis, jeeps and cars are
also available at Srinagar for the journey.
