Itinerary

Welcome to Japan. On arrival at Tokyo International Airport, meet the Target Tours India team and transfer by private vehicle to your hotel in central Tokyo. Check-in with our assistance. Depending on arrival time, head out to Shinjuku or Shibuya in the evening to experience Tokyo’s spectacular illuminated skyline. Enjoy your first Japanese dinner at a premium izakaya, sushi restaurant or teppanyaki restaurant. Overnight in Tokyo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Begin your introduction to Tokyo with some of its most iconic landmarks. Start at Meiji Shrine, surrounded by a peaceful forest in the heart of the city. Continue to Harajuku, exploring Takeshita Street and the more sophisticated Omotesando district. Proceed to Shibuya to experience the famous Shibuya Crossing, the Hachiko Statue, and the surrounding shopping district. Enjoy a Tokyo panoramic viewpoint before evening free time for nightlife and dining. Overnight in Tokyo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today introduces you to Japan’s fascinating warrior traditions. Begin with an authentic Ninja Experience where participants can dress in ninja attire and learn traditional techniques including shuriken throwing. Continue to Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most atmospheric traditional districts. Visit Senso-ji, Tokyo’s famous Buddhist temple, and stroll along Nakamise Street for traditional shops and local snacks. Continue towards the Sumida River and the Tokyo Skytree area. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Tokyo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today is dedicated to the magnificent Mt. Fuji region. Depart Tokyo early for a full-day excursion. Depending on the season and weather conditions, the itinerary can include Mt. Fuji 5th Station when accessible, Lake Kawaguchiko, the iconic Chureito Pagoda viewpoint, panoramic Fuji viewpoints at Oshino Hakkai, and a Fuji ropeway or lakeside experience. Enjoy lunch overlooking the beautiful Fuji landscape. Return to Tokyo in the evening. Please note Mt. Fuji visibility is weather dependent. Overnight in Tokyo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a relaxed morning after the Mt. Fuji excursion. Later, head towards Ryogoku, Tokyo’s historic sumo district and the centre of sumo culture in Japan. Enjoy an entertaining Sumo Show where guests learn about the history and rituals of sumo, the rules and techniques, wrestlers’ training traditions, and see live demonstrations with opportunities for audience participation. For a more immersive experience, we can combine the show with a traditional chanko-nabe dinner. Return to the hotel after the show. Overnight in Tokyo.
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and transfer to Tokyo Station for one of Japan’s quintessential experiences — travelling aboard the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka. The journey covers approximately 515 km in about 2 hours 30 minutes by Nozomi Shinkansen, with comfortable reserved seating and spectacular views of the Japanese countryside. Arrive at Shin-Osaka and transfer to the hotel. After check-in, explore Namba, Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi, and the Glico Man area. Enjoy a fantastic Osaka dinner — premium wagyu, teppanyaki or an authentic Japanese izakaya. Overnight in Osaka.
Breakfast at the hotel. Explore the historical side of Osaka today. Visit Osaka Castle, one of Osaka’s most recognisable landmarks, and enjoy time around its beautiful grounds. Continue to Kuromon Market, often referred to as Osaka’s food market, to explore local Japanese delicacies. In the afternoon, continue to Shinsekai for its retro atmosphere, and finish the day around Dotonbori — Osaka’s famous entertainment district with the Dotonbori Canal, Glico Man, Shinsaibashi, local street food, shopping and nightlife. Overnight in Osaka.
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a full day at Universal Studios Japan. The day includes the park’s major attractions and immersive themed areas, with Super Nintendo World subject to the current entry and ticketing procedures. Priority access with the optional Express Pass is strongly recommended to maximise the experience. This is intentionally kept as a full-day experience rather than combining with other sightseeing. Return to Osaka in the evening for a light dinner. Overnight in Osaka.
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out and transfer to Kyoto by road (approximately 45–60 minutes) or by train (30–45 minutes). After hotel check-in, begin exploring Kyoto. Visit Kiyomizu-dera, one of Kyoto’s most spectacular temples, famous for its wooden stage and panoramic views. Walk through Higashiyama, beautifully preserved traditional streets filled with shops, cafes and Japanese architecture. Continue to Gion, Kyoto’s atmospheric geisha district. Enjoy a refined Japanese dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kyoto.
Breakfast at the hotel. Kyoto’s most photogenic day. Start early to experience the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove before the crowds. Continue with Tenryu-ji Temple and the landscaped gardens, Togetsukyo Bridge, and the Arashiyama riverside with its traditional streets. Later visit Kinkaku-ji — the Golden Pavilion — one of Kyoto’s most iconic landmarks. Return to central Kyoto for a relaxed evening. Overnight in Kyoto.
Breakfast at the hotel. Begin at Fushimi Inari Taisha, famous for its seemingly endless sequence of vermilion torii gates climbing the forested hillside. Go early to avoid the mid-morning crowds. Later, enjoy an authentic Samurai Experience — depending on the operator selected, this may include samurai history, traditional attire, katana demonstration, interactive sword experience, and professional photography. The combination of Fushimi Inari and samurai culture makes this one of the strongest traditional-Japan days of the itinerary. Overnight in Kyoto.
Breakfast at the hotel. Your final full day is deliberately relaxed — the art of slow travel. Explore Kyoto at your own pace. Recommended experiences include Nishiki Market, Kyoto’s shopping streets, traditional craft shops, Kyoto cafes, Takashimaya for premium shopping, and the atmospheric Pontocho and Gion districts. In the evening, conclude your Japan journey with a premium Kaiseki dining experience — Japan’s highest form of traditional multi-course dining. Overnight in Kyoto.
Breakfast at the hotel before check-out. Private transfer to Kansai International Airport for your onward flight. The drive from Kyoto is approximately 100 km / 1.5–2 hours depending on traffic. Board your flight home. End of our services.
