Big BuddhaBig Buddha is one of the most revered and important landmark on the island. The huge statue which is 45m tall sits on the top of the Nakkerd hill between Kata and Chalongbuilt in year 2004. The material used for construction is reinforced concrete, layered with beautiful Burmese white jade marble that sines in the sun. Just next to big Buddha temple is a small buddha statue made of brass. The site offers you a 360 degrees view of the island. The whole atmosphere here is very peaceful and you can hear sound of tinkling small bells. It is 6km away via road from Phuket’s main artery route.
